Handyman Stole From Dying Stamford Woman: PD

The theft was discovered after the woman had died, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — Police arrested a handyman after he stole two checks from an elderly customer and cashed them using his girlfriend's account, police said.

Ralph Esposito, 60, was charged with second-degree larceny after relatives learned of the theft. A total of $2,850 was taken, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Police believe he found the checks in a bathroom while performing work.
