Healing Families Struggling with Mental Health Issues
Free programs for people whose loved ones live with mental health challenges

One out of 5 Americans experiences some form of mental illness in a given year according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. An estimated 8.4 million Americans provide care to someone with a mental health condition. Given these statistics it is safe to assume all of us are in some way impacted by mental health challenges.
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots, nonprofit organization aimed at improving quality of life for people living with mental health challenges and their families. Through its free programs, NAMI provides support and information to those affected by mental health conditions and works to remove the stigma that prevents people from seeking help. NAMI Southwest CT, the affiliate to NAMI covering lower Fairfield County, offers a number of free programs including:
- Support Groups
- Educational Classes
- Presentations for Schools ("Ending the Silence")
- Speaker Series - Our next speaker event is a workshop on Mindfulness on Thursday, September 20th at the Tully Health Center in Stamford.
- Book Club
