Health and Wellness Day for immigrants to take place in Stamford

Building One Community - The Center for Immigrant Opportunity plans 8th Annual Health and Wellness Day for immigrants for April 18

Building One Community – The Center for Immigrant Opportunity (B1C) announced that its 8th Annual Health and Wellness Day for immigrants will take place on April 18th from 9 am to 4:30 pm. B1C and partner organization Community Health Center will offer free health screenings including blood pressure, vision, and HIV/HEP C testing to immigrants as well as dental cleaning, which is the only service that requires registration. The two organizations will also provide an array of informational materials on nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, access to health care services, and other health-related topics. Medical staff will be present throughout the event to conduct health screenings, dental cleanings, and answer attendees’ questions.

Participants also have the opportunity to win a raffle by completing their “Health Passport”. A Health Passport is complete only when a participant has accessed all of the services at the event and received a stamp from each service confirming their participation. B1C hopes the Health Passport raffle will encourage attendees to take advantage of all of the services and information that will be available on Health and Wellness Day, services that would otherwise be costly and difficult for the immigrant community to access.

To register for dental cleaning, please call 203-674-8585, Extension 119.
