Hey Stamford! Food Festival Offers Free Admission To Local Heroes

Complimentary tickets to the festival are being extended to first responders, health care workers, teachers and their family and friends.

STAMFORD, CT — The region’s largest food and music festival, the Hey Stamford! Food Festival, has teamed up with First County Bank and Minchin Buick GMC to honor the local heroes of Fairfield County and beyond.

The festival, which takes place in Stamford’s Mill River Park over two big weekends (Aug. 11-14 and Aug. 19-21) will be extending free admission on Friday nights (Aug. 12 and Aug. 19) for all local first responders, health care workers and teachers, along with three additional tickets for family and friends.

To receive the complimentary four tickets, patrons can enter the code HEROES in the festival’s ticket platform. Tickets and badge/identification must be presented at the festival on Friday night.

"Our community’s heroes have done so much for us the past few years," said Scott Minchin, president of minchin Buick GMC, in a news release. "And we want to let them know how much we appreciate them and give them an evening of fun with family and friends."

Bob Granata, chairman and chief executive officer of First County Bank, said he's grateful for Fairfield County's local heroes.

"It has been yet another challenging year, and your dedication to the community has been unwavering. Thank you for all your hard work," he said in a news release.

The festival’s Friday nights will include food trucks, a beer garden and live music. On Aug. 12, festival goers will be treated to a performance from PopROCKS - Connecticut’s ultimate ‘80s band, playing all the best pop and rock eighties favorites.

The night of Aug. 19 will feature a performance by Just Press Play (formerly Jump The Gunn), a modern country band from Fairfield County.

The festival will also feature live performances by DJ Pauly D, Flo Rida, I Love the 90’s Tour (featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, All-4-One, Young MC and more), and Resurrection - A Journey Tribute, as well as culinary demonstrations from Chefs Todd English and Aaron May and more than 50 food vendors.
