According to Lorenz, the fire originated in the second floor ceiling and extended to the third floor of the home. The blaze was ultimately brought under control within an hour, however firefighters remained in the area for a while to extinguish hot spots and salvage the homeowner's belongings.
"The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but the family self-evacuated and no civilian or fire casualties were reported," Lorenz said. "The home suffered severe fire, smoke and water damage."
