Identity Of Stabbing Victim Released: Stamford Police

Police released the identity of the 43-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in Stamford early Wednesday morning.

STAMFORD, CT — The man who was fatally stabbed in Stamford's East Side earlier this week has been identified as 43-year-old Jimmy Louis, the Stamford Police Department announced on Thursday.

Police said Louis was homeless at the time of his death, but has family in Stamford.

A homicide investigation is underway into the incident which occured around 1:11 a.m. on Wednesday. Police said they responded to a report of a stabbing victim inside a car at 54 Hamilton Ave. Officers located Louis, who had multiple stab wounds to his upper body, and tried to resuscitate him. Louis was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

In addition to the scene on Hamilton Avenue, another crime scene was found nearby on Culloden Road near the intersection of Penzance Road, police said.

The SPD is investigating Louis' death in conjunction with the Stamford State’s Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information regarding Louis is asked to call the Major Crimes Office at 203-977-4421. The case supervisor is Sgt. Sean Boeger.
