Infighting Continues at Stamford Fire Department

Tensions still exist between career and volunteer firefighters five years after residents voted to merge the departments.

STAMFORD, CT — A level of infighting continues five years after the city merged its career and volunteer fire departments.

Fire Chief Trevor Roach made the comments at a Board of Finance meeting where he requested a 6.5 percent budget increase, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Roach said the fire chief should have uniform authority over all members.
