LiveGirl Hosts #GirlBoss Community Event In Stamford
The March 23 event, attended by more than 100 parents and daughters, was held at UConn Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT - From LiveGirl: LiveGirl hosted a #GirlBoss community event at UConn Stamford on March 23rd that drew more than 100 parents and daughters. The event was the culmination of LiveGirl’s #GirlBoss contest that encouraged girls to submit their ideas to make the world a better place. LiveGirl Founder and CEO Sheri West explained, “This contest was about encouraging girls to innovate, create, and discover the power of their voices and ideas.”
At the community event, contest winners presented their ideas to a #GirlBoss panel comprised of Barbara Stevens (President Rand Insurance), Alyson Gerber (Author “Brace”, “Focused”), Valerie Cooper (Founder Picture That Art LLC), and Juliana Fetherman (Founder Making Authentic Friendships LLC). Juliana Fetherman mentored the girls, “Never let anyone intimidate you. You have the right to have your ideas heard and be taken seriously.”
The contest winners presented compelling ideas, including a beach clean-up recycle campaign, a period poverty initiative, and a social media campaign (Choose To Be You) to encourage girls to embrace their true selves. The contest winners are listed below and will be featured in the summer edition of STRONG Magazine for Girls:
