Local Business Team together to Shred Cancer!

Shred Sensitive Documents and help disadvantaged women receive mammograms

Everyone can agree that early detection is the key to treating and curing every type of cancer, however many financially disadvantaged people are unable to afford these lifesaving tests. That is why a group of area businesses in Stamford have joined together to raise money to provide free mammograms to women who cannot afford one. All proceeds will be donated to the Bennett Cancer Center at the Stamford Hospital for this purpose.

Shred Cancer” is a chance for residents to bring their sensitive documents for on-site shredding. The event will be held at Cummings Park, Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, on Saturday, October 7th, from 9am to 12 pm. People can bring up to 10 boxes (any box similar to 12”X18”X12”) to the park for shredding. Suggested donation is $5/box but additional donations will be accepted. All checks should be made payable to the Bennett Cancer Center.

“As a breast cancer survivor who benefitted from early detection followed by outstanding treatment at the Bennett Cancer Center, this issue is very important to me,” said Susan Eckstein, of Susan N. Eckstein & Associates. “That is why I am so thrilled that the First Bank of Greenwich, Santaguida Sanitation and Cooper-Smith Advertising joined with me to organize and underwrite this event.”
