Man Armed With Hammer Robs Stamford Gas Station: PD

STAMFORD, CT — Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a Stamford gas station Wednesday night. According to Sgt. Sean Boeger, the man was armed with a hammer when he entered the Shell gas station on Hope Street around 8:30 p.m.

Boeger said the man went behind a counter where a clerk was situated and took several items, as well as an undetermined amount of cash. The man then ran east of the station on foot.

"We used a K9 to track his path of travel, but we weren't able to locate him," Boeger said.

No one was injured, and officers were able to recover several pieces of evidence at the station, Boeger said.

Boeger described the suspect as a light-skinned man of medium build and height. He was wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap at the time of the incident, Boeger said.
