Man Beats Woman in Head with Bat: Stamford PD

STAMFORD, CT — A homeless man was arrested after he was accused of hitting a woman in the head with a baseball bat, according to police.

The woman told police she and Dennis Chirino, 44, were staying in an abandoned building near Atlantic and Dock streets Tuesday, according to the Stamford Advocate.

He woke up in the middle of the night and found $50 missing from his pocket and accused the victim of taking it, police said.

She was treated at Stamford Hospital.
