Man Dies After Being Taken Into Police Custody: Stamford Police
Police said a 23-year-old man died after being taken into police custody in Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — Police said a 23-year-old man died after being taken into police custody early Wednesday morning in Stamford, according to media reports. The man was being held by police following a domestic dispute with his mother when he went into medical distress and died at Stamford Hospital.
According to NBC Connecticut, police said they responded to a report of the incident and located the mother, however the man had fled before police arrived. Officers later found the suspect hiding in a wooded area and he was taken to the Stamford Police Department.
Police said the man began to experience medical distress while at the station and was taken to Stamford Hospital, where he died, the Stamford Advocate reports. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Acting police Chief Thomas Wuennemann told the Stamford Advocate the man appeared to have died from an unknown medical condition and police conduct is not being looked at as a cause of death.
The man's name has not been released yet.
