Man Found Dead On Stillwater Avenue In Stamford: Police

STAMFORD, CT — A 29-year-old Stamford man was found dead on Stillwater Avenue Thursday morning, according to the Stamford Police Department.

Capt. Richard Conklin of the SPD said a concerned resident called 911 around 10:30 a.m. and reported seeing a man on the ground in the area of 31 Stillwater Ave. near Downer Funeral Home.

Responding officers found the man dead, and the Medical Examiner was called.

"Our investigation at this point yields no obvious signs of trauma. We're theorizing it could either be an exposure case where this person was on the ground with the extreme cold we've been having, or perhaps a substance overdose case," Conklin said.

The SPD is currently in the process of notifying next of kin. Conklin said the investigation will continue.
