Man Groped Child, Attempted to Lure Her to Elevator: Stamford PD

A suspect was apprehended.

STAMFORD, CT — Police arrested a 20-year-old man after he sexually groped a 12-year-old girl and attempted to lure her into an elevator, police said.

Police responded Tuesday to Bedford Street to investigate the report. The victim told police she arrived home from school and entered the elevator.

"As she was walking down the hallway the male grabbed the girl’s buttocks," said Lt. Diedrich Hohn, police spokesman. "At that point he grabbed her on her arm and told her to be quiet. He started to lead her down the hallway, all the while holding her by her arm. As she passed the door to her apartment she began to scream and knock on the door. The suspect let go and took off running."
