Man with Samurai Sword Arrested at Stamford School
The Springdale School was put in a 'shelf-in-place' mode until Stamford Police arrested the suspect.

A man who Stamford Police say was carrying a samurai sword as he walked on the ball field of Springdale Elmentary School is facing several charges including possession of a dangerous weapon.
William Kemsley, 44, of Norwalk, was arrested after police found him on the grounds of the school at 1127 Hope St., about 9 a.m. Thursday, with the sword and a folding knife, according to The Advocate. Kemsley was charged with breach of peace, possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and violating a judge’s protective order and held in lieu of $25,000 bond, according to the report.
The school was placed in a ‘shelter-in-place’ mode after police were notified, according to the report which can be found here.
