Man On Scooter Hit By Car, Seriously Injured: Stamford Police
The impact caused the scooter operator to be thrown onto the roadway, and the scooter was broken into several pieces, police said.

GREENWICH, CT — A 46-year-old Stamford man was seriously injured after police say he was struck by a car while riding a scooter Thursday night.
The scooter operator was taken to Stamford Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Booth of the Stamford Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad.
The crash occurred May 29 at approximately 10:59 p.m. in the 100 block of Hope Street.

A 2011 BMW, driven by a 17-year-old Stamford resident, was traveling northbound on Hope Street when it collided with a person riding a stand-up scooter that was also heading northbound, Booth said.
Booth noted the impact caused the scooter operator, who was wearing a helmet, to be thrown onto the roadway. The scooter was heavily damaged and broken into several pieces.

The operator of the BMW initially left the area, but parked the vehicle a short distance away and walked back to the scene where he spoke to officers, Booth said. No charges have been filed at this time.
