Man Survives 100-Foot Fall from Stamford Balcony

A man has survived an 11-story fall from the balcony of his Bedford Street apartment early Sunday.

The 28-year-old man reportedly had been drinking heavily and trying to break into the apartment where he lives part-time with his wife and either fell or jumped from the balcony and landed on the ground 100 below about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, according to The Advocate.

Police said he survived because the fall was broken by the man hitting several tree branches and landed on the soft, rain-soaked ground, according to the report.
