Manhar C. Patel, 76; Retired Stamford High School Physics Teacher

Manhar C. Patel, 76, longtime resident of Norwalk passed away on Sunday, March 22nd at Norwalk Hospital.

He was born on April 10, 1938 in Nadiad, Gujarat, India.

Mr. Patel was a retired physics teacher at Stamford High School. Though retired he was often requested and enthusiastically returned to teach at the high school and college level.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was very active in the Indian community. Among his many passions, he enjoyed playing bridge, music, travelling and spending time with his four grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Madhu Patel (married 54 years) and three children, son Dipesh Patel, daughter Keyuri Yagnik and her husband Nilesh Yagnik, son Nilesh Patel and his wife Nima Patel and his sister, Chandrika Patel.

He is predeceased by his brother, Ramanbhai Patel and his sister, Jyotsna Patel.

Funeral services will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902 on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
