STAMFORD, CT — Marriott International will lay off 107 Stamford-based employees in December, according to paperwork filed with the state Department of Labor.
About 330 local workers have been laid off since Marriott acquired Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide in September 2016, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Stamford's economic development director Thomas Madden told the Advocate that the layoffs are part of Marriott's consolidation plan which is reducing overlapping departments or moving workers to its Bethesda, Maryland headquarters.
