Mayor Martin Sworn In For Second Term

Mayor Martin was ceremonially sworn in by his father, retired Missouri Judge Gene Martin.

STAMFORD, CT - From The Office of The Mayor of The City of Stamford: Today, December 1, 2017, Mayor David Martin was sworn in for his second four-year term. Below is an excerpt of his speech at this morning’s swearing in ceremony.

Town Clerk Lyda Ruijter, several constables, and members of the Boards of Finance, Education, and Representatives were also sworn in by former City of Stamford Assistant Corporation Counsel and current Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court Richard A. Robinson.

“So let us leave this room today resolute in our determination to work together to build a better Stamford by using our courage, our imagination, and our unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.

I love Stamford. It has been my home for more than 35 years. This is the place where my wife and I raised a family. I am proud to be Mayor of this great city. I want Stamford to continue to be the jewel of Connecticut and New England, and a shining example for all of America.”
