Mayor Simmons Launches Literacy Initiative Logo Contest

Students in K-12 who live or attend school in Stamford can submit logo designs.

STAMFORD, CT — Mayor Caroline Simmons' office is seeking logo designs for her literacy initiative program, which aims to promote literacy among children from birth and beyond.

The initiative provides equitable access to materials, training, workshops and events for literacy development for families, caregivers and educators.

Students in K-12 who live or attend school in Stamford can submit logo designs.

Entries should be diverse and inclusive of gender and race, the guidelines state, and any logo must include "Mayor's Literacy Initiative" in the design.

The logos will be judged based on creativity (50 percent), relevancy (25 percent) and execution (25 percent).

All entries must be submitted no later than Feb. 26. Winners will be notified prior to an award ceremony this spring.
