More Layoffs at Stamford RBS

The new round of layoffs brings the total to about 200 locally for the year.

STAMFORD, CT—The Royal Bank of Scotland will lay off another 24 employees in the city, bringing the total local job cut to near 200 for the year.

Layoffs were decided prior to RBS agreeing to pay a record $120 million settlement to the state over its mortgage underwriting practices prior to the 2008 financial collapse, according to the Stamford Advocate.

RBS didn't comment about whether there would be more Stamford layoffs, according to the Advocate.
