New Road Added To Stamford's Inventory After Approval From Board Of Representatives
The Board of Representatives held its March meeting on Monday night.

STAMFORD, CT — The City of Stamford has added a new road to its inventory.
On Monday night, the Board of Representatives approved a request as part of its consent agenda to accept the newly-constructed North Ridge Road as a city street under the city's code of ordinances.
The request was previously unanimously approved by the Board of Reps. Land Use-Urban Redevelopment Committee last month.

North Ridge Road is located off of Cascade Road and across from Michael Road, and leads to a recently completed development built by North Ridge Contractors LLC.
During the Land Use-Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting on Feb. 18, Lou Casolo, a City of Stamford engineer, said the Stamford Zoning Board approved a subdivision application for the project in 2017. Subdivision maps were filed in 2018, and building permits were acquired shortly thereafter.

However, Casolo said, the COVID-19 pandemic caused construction delays, and the roadway was "substantially completed" last June. Casolo noted the road was originally approved as a public road.
The roadway was deemed to comply with City of Stamford specifications and standards, and it is acceptable to the Stamford Engineering Department. Casolo said.
As part of the request, the developer must submit a maintenance bond, which will cover any maintenance or repair-related costs associated with the road for two years.
According to submitted documents, the bond is for $45,200.
"The road has been well constructed and has been inspected by members of city staff," said John Leydon, attorney for North Ridge Contractors LLC, during the February meeting. "We're confident it's going to be a fine road for a very long time.
