Adults who grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 1970s, can relive their childhood this May when Northeast Elementary School’s Fifth Grade presents the musical, School House Rock Live! Jr. The musical is based on School House Rock, the Emmy Award-wining 1970s educational animated television series, which taught children about grammar, math, science, history, and social studies, through the clever use of animated characters and songs with catchy titles and lyrics, including: “A Noun is a Person, Place or Thing,” “Conjunction Junction,” I’m Just a Bill,” and “Interplanet Janet.” Reviewed as one of musical theatre’s brightest and most innovative shows, School House Rock is fun for audiences of all ages.
The musical features 36 Northeast Fifth Grade students, with 28 members in the cast, and eight students in the crew. Students will sing and dance their way through eleven musical numbers featuring some of the most iconic songs from the original TV series that are now part of the popular musical.
