Obituary: Anthony F. Gerardi, 74, Of Stamford

Anthony Francis Gerardi of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022 at the age of 74 in the Greenwich Hospital.

Anthony (Tony, Chico), born 3/18/47, grew up in Old Greenwich, CT, where he graduated from Greenwich High School. In his younger years, Tony trained for the Golden Gloves, but his dream was cut short due to a near-death motorcycle accident. Tony ran his own painting business for many years, eventually joining the City of Stamford as a professional painter for 18 years until his retirement.

Tony enjoyed football, golf and tennis. He participated in the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and multiple bowling leagues throughout the years. He loved his Stamford home garden, and was known for his many tomatoes and sunflowers. Tony loved all animals, especially his beloved cats. He valued family ties and traditions, and spending time with his friends.

Tony is predeceased by his parents’ Daniel J. Gerardi and Alice Furano Gerardi, and his brother Daniel J. Gerardi, Jr. He is survived by sister Angela G. Turek of Greenwich, and brother John J. Gerardi (Sharon) of Stamford; nieces Diane Gromley (Randy), Michele Cookney (Colin) and Jessica Mordarski (Nick); nephew/godson John Gerardi, Jr.; and many great nephews/nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation is Friday, March 18, 2022 at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, CT from 4-6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., St. Maurice Catholic Church, 358 Glenbrook Rd., Stamford, CT.
