Obituary: Brian Wyndham Pennell, 71, Of Stamford

Brian Wyndham Pennell, 71, of Schooner Cove, Stamford, died on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022 suddenly and peacefully.
Born in Singapore, son of the late Alan Pennell and survived by his mother, Stella (Lupton) Pennell of Vancouver, and his three daughters, Amanda Pennell Lockhart (Stephen), Briana Chelsea Pennell (Don Kuhn), Mackenzie Nicole Pennell Gleeson (Matthew), his ex-wife and close friend, Gale Pennell, their cherished grandchildren Eden Sebastian 13, Aroha Bay 8, Oceana Lilly 7, Atlas Jack 5, Penelope Rose 4, and Halo Violet 2, as well as two brothers Simon Pennell and Timothy Pennell. Brian succeeded his father’s Chronosport watch company originally in Rowayton Ct.

Chronosport started as a sailing brand, namely the Memosail watch. Brian introduced the first matching men’s and women’s Diving chronographs, he also designed and branded the Chronosport U.D.T. (Underwater Dive Timer) bought and used internationally by military armed forces and divers alike.
Brian had an international presence, fluent in French and Spanish and was quite the linguist. He enjoyed traveling, sailing, skiing and driving in his European sports cars, not to mention helping friends in need.

A thoughtful, loving and gentle man, with a brilliant mind. He loved the outdoors, being on the water, animals and especially cherished time spent with his daughters and adoring grandchildren.
