Obituary: Dennis 'DJ' Pierce Jr., 40, Longtime Stamford Resident

Dennis John “DJ” Pierce Jr., a long time resident of Stamford, passed away surrounded by his family and friends on April 7, 2023 after a brief illness.

DJ, born on May 17, 1982 was the son of Dennis Pierce III and the late Gayle Pierce. He graduated from Stamford High School in 2000 and eventually pursued a successful career in the HVAC business. He earned several licenses from Porter and Chester Institute. DJ worked as a Plant Operations Mechanic at Stamford Hospital for eight years. He also established his own HVAC business, Pierce HVAC & Design. He took great pride in his work and developed a strong bond with his coworkers.

DJ cherished his family. His wife Stephanie and his two boys DJ (2.5) and Nicholas (1) were the loves of his life. He was a dedicated husband and father who would go above and beyond for his family’s happiness.

DJ was best known for his incredible sense of humor and spot on impersonations. He would bring you to tears with laughter and he radiated pure joy with his exuberant personality. He loved hockey, traveling to Vermont with his snowmobiles and quads and driving his infamous orange Shelby Mustang. He looked forward to riding matching father/son Harleys with his dad. He lived life with endless energy.

DJ was loyal and dedicated and nurtured his friendships with care and compassion. His amazing group of childhood friends and “brother,” Joey Trombetta remained by his side with his family for support and motivation throughout his illness. He was a truly remarkable human who will be missed by the many who loved him dearly.

DJ is survived by his wife Stephanie Pierce, his children Dennis “DJ” Pierce V and Nicholas Pierce, his father Dennis Pierce III (Elissa), his sister Courtney Eisenhardt (Evan), his niece and nephew Mason and Emilia Eisenhardt, his step-sister, Emily Lord and his grandmother BetteAnn Agisheff. DJ is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

DJ is predeceased by his mother Gayle Pierce, grandfather Joseph Trombetta, grandmother Josephine Trombetta and grandfather Dennis Pierce II.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 13 at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford, CT from 4-8pm. A funeral will be held on Friday April 14 at The Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT at 10:30am.
