Obituary: Elaine P. Slocum, 67, Lifelong Stamford Resident

Elaine Patricia Slocum, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024 at the age of 67. She was the daughter of the late Ray Rowland Slocum, Jr., and late Nina Bump Turnbull (formerly Nina Slocum). Elaine was a commercial insurance broker, having most recently worked for Total Insurance Brokerage for the past 18 years. She loved all things cat-related and enjoyed spoiling her two granddaughters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Megan & Matt Querze, her two granddaughters, Bridget and Nora, all of Stamford, her brother, Thomas Slocum of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, her niece and nephew, Jennifer (Slocum) Teague of Pennsylvania and Michael Slocum of North Carolina, and 17 first cousins. Calling hours and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home and Cremation, LLC, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. Interment of cremated remains will be private. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Big Cat Rescue (website atwww.bigcatrescue.org).
