Obituary: Elmo J. Varricchio, 96, Of Stamford

Ellie enjoyed playing the piano, listening to music and reading as well as being a long time fan of the New York Giants.

Elmo James Varricchio born October 10, 1926 in Stamford CT passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2022. He was a life-long resident of Stamford. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Brigante) Varricchio. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1944. He later served as sergeant in the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines for two years. Upon his return he attended and later graduated from N.Y. Technical Institute of New Jersey in 1952. Elmo fondly know as “Ellie” also attended UConn in Stamford (when it was located at the old high school). He also studied at Syracuse University.

His work experience included his time as co-owner and operator of Tower Television & Radio Services in Stamford, CT. He later went on to be Director of Marketing at Branson Instruments of Stamford for seventeen years. He also worked as General Manager and President of New England Pollution Control of New Haven CT until his retirement in 1988.

A Funeral mass will be held at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave. Stamford, CT on Wednesday December 28, 2022. Entombment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery Norwalk, CT.
