She enjoyed playing tennis,was an avid tennis fan, loved crocheting, bowling & singing in the choir at St. Bridget and St. Cecelia Church.

Elvera Rose Zurkowski, 102 of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023. She was born on April 20, 1921, to the late Susie Catino and Jack Boccuzzi.
Elvera graduated from Stamford High School. She worked as a secretary for Branson Instruments for many years. She enjoyed playing tennis (which she began at the age of 65), was an avid tennis fan, loved crocheting, bowling, and singing in the choir at St. Bridget and St. Cecelia Churches.

She is survived by her children Richard Zurkowski (Rosemarie) and Susan Hart, her grandchildren Richard Zurkowski, Jr. (Barbara), Kristy Schutzman, Jonathan Zurkowski (Melissa), Andrew Hart, and Christopher Hart. Six great grandchildren, Kody, Jesse, Chloe, Se’ve, Michael and Jospeh. Many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry Zurkowski, sisters Ann Gorpodinoff (Steve), Ida Fiordelisi (Jerry), Grace Boccuzzi, Mary Boccuzzi and brother Nick (Bing) Boccuzzi (Marie).

Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A funeral mass will follow at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
