Obituary: Marie Faugno, 96, Of Stamford
Marie's greatest love was gardening, second only to her children and grandchildren.

Marie DelBuono Faugno, 96, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. She was born in Luogosano, Italy on February 17, 1927 to the late Fiore and Caterina Cella DelBuono.Marie emigrated in 1950 from Italy and was employed at Southfield Packaging of Stamford in the 1980’s. Her greatest love was gardening, second only to her children and grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her loving children, Samuel Faugno, Theodora “Dora” Faugno and Geraldina Maignan, all of Stamford, two sisters, Giovanna DeD’Angeleo, Carmelina Pierni, both of Italy. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Michelle Fico, Ashley Maignan, Samuel Faugno, Jr. and Michael Maignan, as well as her great grandchildren, Mary, Rose and Gwyneth Fico.Besides her parents, Marie was also predeceased by her husband Ralph Faugno in 2005 and four siblings, Viola Petroccine, Nella DelBuono, Delia Cella and Guiseppe DelBuono.

A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Clement’s RC Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, CT at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on March 31, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association – Donor Services, 225 N. Michigan Ave. - Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
