Webinar: The Innovators: Pitney Bowes at 100

The Ferguson Library will host an online screening of the documentary, "The Innovators: Pitney Bowes at 100," on Monday, May 11 at 5:30 p.m. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with producers Bob Doran, and John O’Neill, and Director of Photography Scott Sniffin. Moderated by Tony Pavia. Registration is required.

Narrated by Paula Zahn, “The Innovators: Pitney Bowes at 100,” looks at the breakthroughs from Stamford-based Pitney Bowes’ history. It also looks at their failures along the way and how they survived.

The documentary includes interviews with current and former Pitney Bowes CEOs, and interviews with UConn School of Business Interim Dean David Souder, business author Maury Klein, Peter Liebhold from the Smithsonian, and Elliot Gruber from the U.S. Postal Museum in Washington, D.C. These experts put Pitney Bowes’ values-driven culture of innovation into perspective and help viewers understand if thought leader Jim Collins was correct when he singled the organization out in his 2001 book Good to Great.

Panelists:
Robert P. Doran - Bob is the founder and president of Inovia Media Group/TML. For over 25 years, he has created sponsor-based programming for major brands and networks, and he has developed unique integrated marketing campaigns for many Fortune 500 clients.
“The Innovators: Pitney Bowes at 100”, narrated by Paula Zahn premiered April 23, 2020 on CPTV. He is also the executive producer of “Talking About It”, a podcast about important social issues facing our communities.

John O’Neill (The Innovators – Director/Writer) - The executive producer/director on all projects, John has a degree in film studies and more than 30 years of experience producing film and video. He’s used these skills for scores of clients, from small non-profits to Fortune 100 Corporations.

Scott Sniffen, Filmmaker (The Innovators - Director of Photography) - Emmy nominated filmmaker Scott Sniffen was a long-time Stamford resident and graduated from Westhill High School. Scott is the principal and chief creative at Sniffen Pictures.
In addition to his role as Director of Photography for "The Innovators," his recent projects include the Emmy nominated documentary "Home of the Brave", a film documenting a Connecticut town's fight against a Nazi group in 1937. Scott's newest project is a documentary, "Haiti: Day by Day" and is due by end of year.

Tony Pavia - Tony Pavia is a retired American History teacher and the former principal of Stamford High School School, Trinity Catholic High School, and New Canaan High School, as well as the co-author of An American Town Goes to War, which chronicles Stamford veterans’ experiences in World War II.
