Panera Bread To Open Location On High Ridge Road In Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — Panera Bread, the popular bakery-café fast casual chain that offers sandwiches, soups, salads, pizzas and more, will open up a location at 1008 High Ridge Road in Stamford.

Jason Wuchiski represented Panera Bread and The Fieber Group in the real estate deal, and told Patch in an email the location will replace the former Gym Source space. The Stamford Advocate, which originally reported the deal, said the space is 2,700 square feet.

Wuchiski said with the permitting process and the potential for materials being back-ordered, it's difficult to pinpoint when any retail establishment will open. But Panera Bread should open up at some point in 2022, he said.

The Advocate reported that Panera Bread has been eyeing High Ridge Road for over 10 years. The corridor features heavily-trafficked retail businesses just off the Merritt Parkway.

This will be the first Panera Bread location in Stamford. The closest Panera Bread is in Norwalk at 650 Main Ave. There is also a location in Westport at 860 Post Road East.
