Forest Street was closed to all traffic between Greyrock Place and Bedford Street.

Booth said a 2014 Toyota Prius, driven by a 25-year-old Stamford man, struck the woman who was in a crosswalk. The man was issued a misdemeanor summons at the scene for striking a vulnerable user and causing serious physical injury, Booth noted. He was released from the scene on a written promise to appear.

The crash is being investigated by Booth and officer Kerilyn Whitehead.
