STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Board of Representatives is scheduled to consider a series of high-dollar public safety and infrastructure funding items when it meets on Feb. 2, including proposals tied to police staffing and major stormwater and roadway improvements.

Among the most significant items on the agenda is a package of fiscal measures related to police hiring and staffing. The board is scheduled to consider additional appropriations and related resolutions connected to a federal COPS Hiring Grant and a request to increase the city’s budgeted police officer positions. The agenda notes that the funding would support new officers hired through an upcoming police academy class and would require city matching funds and future budget commitments.

The board is also expected to review multiple capital and operating budget items recommended by the Fiscal Committee, including proposed appropriations totaling millions of dollars for stormwater infrastructure and roadway improvements in the Perna Lane area.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Representatives’ Legislative Chambers at the Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., 4th Floor.
