Police Seek Help Finding Missing Stamford Man
"We are currently looking at this investigation as suspicious in nature," said Stamford Police Capt. Diedrich Hohn in a news release Sunday.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a 63-year-old Stamford man who was last seen in Bridgeport on Dec. 29.
"We are currently looking at this investigation as suspicious in nature," said Capt. Diedrich Hohn of the SPD in a news release Sunday evening.
Police said Errol Whyte was last seen by family members in Bridgeport on Dec. 29 at 6:30 p.m. He was on his way home to Stamford that night but never arrived.

Whyte was last seen driving his red 2002 Ford Explorer, with Connecticut registration BH-78995, police said, noting that the car was later found on the southbound side of Interstate-95 between exits 17 and 18 on Dec. 31.
Whyte's cellphone, keys and wallet were inside the car, police said. The SPD took a missing person report and seized the car as part of the investigation.

"We are asking for anyone who has information on Whyte’s whereabouts, or if anyone saw any activity with his vehicle on I-95 south, between the hours of 630 p.m., on Dec. 29, and 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 30," Hohn said.
Police described Whyte as a Black man, approximately 6-feet-1 inch tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. Whyte was last seen wearing a black collared jacket, white long-sleeve button up shirt, khaki pants, a black fedora and black shoes.
Whyte's date of birth is July 26, 1959. Police said he lives on Gregory Street in Stamford.
