Police: Speed a Factor in Long Ridge Road Accident
Stamford resident Thomas Blair suffered non-life threatening injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Long Ridge Road Thursday night.

The is investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Long Ridge Road Thursday night, which caused non-life threatening injuries to the driver, according to a statement released by Officer Jeffrey Booth of the SPD's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad.
At approximately 11:50 p.m., according to Booth, 48-year-old Stamford resident Thomas Blair was traveling northbound on Long Ridge Road near Wishing Well Road when his 2008 BMW struck a guardrail, a traffic light post and a traffic light control box. Following the impact, the vehicle re-entered the roadway and came to rest in the southbound lanes of Long Ridge Road.

According to Booth, Long Ridge Road was closed for several hours as a result of the accident and the Department of Transportation responded to assist with the clean up of the crash scene.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, Booth said in the statement.
