Popular Furniture Store Closing In Stamford
Bob's Discount Furniture is set to close its Stamford location this month, however a new store is set to open soon in a nearby town.
STAMFORD, CT — Bob's Discount Furniture has announced it will be closing its Stamford location this week. On Thursday, an office associate at the store confirmed to Patch the Hope Street store's last day of operation will be Sunday.
The store is currently having a clearance sale and many items are being sold at 50 percent off, the associate also confirmed.
A new Bob's location is set to open this weekend in the former Toys R Us building on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk, according to the Stamford Advocate. The two-level Stamford store has operated in the Glenbrook area of Stamford since 2000.

According to the store's website, owner Bob Kaufman opened the first Bob's Discount Furniture store in Newington in 1991 on the principle of "providing unsurpassed value with honesty and integrity."
Bob's has a number of locations in Connecticut, including stores in Bridgeport, Orange, Manchester, New London, Brookfield and Southington.
