Stamford Business Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

STAMFORD, CT — Power Yoga Collective Stamford last week marked its 10th anniversary of serving the community with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Summer Street location.

Aimee and Tim Elsner opened the studio at 1372 Summer St. in 2016 as Connecticut Power Yoga. It later changed its name after joining forces with The Power Yoga Collective.

The studio now has more than 150 members, and it has trained 158 yoga teachers through its 200-hour program, with the next training scheduled for November 2026. The business has also opened a studio in Pound Ridge.

"Reaching 10 years is a milestone that reflects the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our team," said Founder Aimee Elsner in a news release. "Stamford has been an incredible home for our business, and we’re excited to continue investing in the community that has supported us from day one."

Mayor Caroline Simmons said Aimee and Tim have contributed to Stamford's growing community of people from all age groups.

"It is a positive and vibrant community that adds great value to our city and I’m proud to say that I’ve been attending classes since year one," Simmons said in a news release.

Power Yoga Collective Stamford has been featured in the Stamford Gold List for five consecutive years. It has contributed to Stamford schools and Bennet Cancer, donated raffle prizes to local nonprofit groups and sponsored Stamford Run Club races annually.

The studio also said it has supported Mill River Parks' free summer programs with Sunrise Yoga in the Park for the past 11 years.

"We started this business to build a community, and it has been exhilarating to watch it grow in one of the most dynamic and diverse cities in the metropolitan NY/CT area. The next 10 years will be even more exciting," Founder Aimee Elsner said in a news release. "We are so grateful for the dedicated members and new attendees who appreciate a soulful and strengthening experience that goes beyond the mat."

The studio specializes in hot yoga and serves residents of Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk and the broader Fairfield County region.
