RBS To Lay Off More Stamford Employees

It's the latest wave of layoffs for the company at its Stamford headquarters.

STAMFORD, CT — The Royal Bank of Scotland will lay off another 23 workers in September.

The company filed a WARN notice with the Connecticut Department of Labor July 13.

RBS filed layoff notices for 15 workers in May, 22 in April, 9 in March and 10 in February.

There have been more than 600 layoffs at the company's Americas headquarters in Stamford since 2015, according to the Stamford Advocate. Layoffs have affected finance, IT and operations positions.

The company took big legal hits following the 2008 housing crisis. Among those who won money was the State of Connecticut, which got a $120 million settlement.
