Report: Stamford Mom Accidentally Stabs Son During Argument

The son reportedly refused to go to school and insulted and spit at his mother.

A mother-son argument over the teen’s apparent intent to skip school ended when the mother accidentally stabbed him with a knife as the teen made a threatening move towards her, according to reports.

The Monday morning incident between Terri Burgess, 39, of Stamford, and her 16-year-old son resulted in the arrests of both, according to The Advocate.

Police said the teen insulted his mother, said he wanted her dead and spit on her before she grabbed kitchen utensils to defend herself and inadvertently picked up a knife with the utensils that she swung at him, according to The Advocate. She was charged with assault and disorderly conduct and the son was charged with disorderly conduct, according to the report which can be found here.
