Report: Stamford Nursing Home Fined

Smith House Skilled Nursing Facility, of Stamford, was fined $1,020 by the state Department of Public Health after a resident was injured in a fall in February, reports Connecticut Health I-Team.

According to the report, a resident who suffered from dementia, fell out of bed and suffered cuts to their forehead.

A nursing assistant had bathed the resident, and at the same time another resident asked for help, and when the assistant left the resident briefly, she fell and hit the nightstand, the I-Team reports.
