Rippowam Middle School Track Temporarily Closed In Stamford
The track is undergoing resurfacing, according to officials.
STAMFORD, CT — The Rippowam Middle School track is currently closed until the first week in August, while an ongoing resurfacing project is underway, according to officials.
Residents are urged to stay out of the construction site for safety reasons, and to allow the capital improvement project to succeed.
Both the track and the field it surrounds will remain closed until work is completed.

"The work is weather dependent and the new surface requires a resting period, so while there may not be daily activity on the site, it is important that the field not be used," officials wrote on Facebook (click here to view photos). "Any disturbance to the new surfacing during the resting period could ruin the underlayment or new surface.
"The track circles a synthetic turf soccer field, and both the track and field are beloved and well-used resources for residents, nonprofit programs, sports training camps, and students."
