Road 'Impassable' Due To Water Main Break In Stamford: PD

Residents in the surrounding area are asked to expect low or no water pressure due to the break, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — Unity Road at Kijek Street in Stamford is "impassable" following a water main break on High Ridge Road in Stamford, police said on Twitter. Residents in the surrounding area are asked to expect low or no water pressure, police said.

Rippowam Middle School and the Academy of Information Technology and Engineering (AITE), both of which are located on High Ride Road, remain open at this time, police said.

According to News 12 Connecticut, the 24-inch water main broke around 5 a.m. and was shut off around 7:30 a.m. Aquarion water service crews were working to repair the break.

The break occurred near High Clear Drive, the Stamford Advocate reports. Aquarion said Stamford customers may experience low water pressure or discoloration due to the break.
