Roger Fox Named Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal

The Irish American Cultural Society of Stamford (IACSOS) announced today the Grand Marshal of the 2022 Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Roger J. Fox. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the parade will return to Stamford on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2PM.
Roger J. Fox was born and raised in Stamford, CT. He credits his four grandparent families for his Irish heritage; the Foxes, the Haggertys, the Kerrigans, and the Thomes. He graduated from Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University. He has been a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch for 47 years and is currently a senior vice president of wealth management.
His community involvement includes participating in the Irish Democratic Club, where he has served as president. He has also served as president for the Young Democratic Club and the Stamford Senior Babe Ruth League. He was the first chairman of the Stamford Harbor Commission and has coached various youth leagues in Stamford. The leagues include Stamford Youth Hockey, Stamford Youth Soccer, Springdale Little League, Stamford Babe Ruth Softball, Catholic Youth Organization Basketball, Stamford Middle School Football, and Youngtimers Basketball.

Fox has been involved in Catholic education for 30 years and has served as vice president for the Stamford Catholic Regional School System, chairman of the Trinity Catholic Advisory Board, and chairman of the Catholic Academy. He was the campaign manager for John W. Fox's CT-state representative campaign, as well as the campaign manager for Dan Fox's CT state representative campaigns.
“We are delighted to have Roger as our Grand Marshal this year. I have known Roger and his family for many years and a finer man is hard to come by. He is a man of strength, integrity and faith,” said Parade Chairman Michael Feighan.

Fox will be honored at the Grand Marshal’s Dinner, taking place on Friday evening, March 4th at 6:30PM at Serafina at the IC in Stamford. Former Parade Chairman James P. Bartley, will also be honored posthumously. Bartley was the parade’s second-ever chairman, leading it for 12 years. Tickets for the dinner, which raises funds to run the parade and to support a parade scholarship, may be purchased by visiting Stamfordstpatricksdayparade.com.
With a new parade route, the Stamford St. Patrick’s Day parade takes place on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 2PM. The parade begins at the corner of Washington Blvd. and Main Street and continues onto Lower Summer Street, Broad Street, and Bedford Street where it ends at Latham Park.
