Southern CT Weather: 10 Below Zero Wind Chills Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued both a special weather statement and a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — I guess you could say it's beginning to feel a lot like winter all of a sudden. We received a moderate snowfall on Friday, some icy rain on Sunday, and now we're staring at the coldest temperatures of the season beginning on Tuesday.

This will be akin to our mini version of the frozen tundra. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and special weather statement for southern Connecticut.

Wind chills of 0 to 10 below zero are likely late tonight. The weather service said, "Wind chills of near 0 to 10 below zero are likely late tonight into Tuesday morning. This will be from temperatures around 5 to 10 degrees across the interior areas combined with northwest winds of around 10 to 15 mph. For coastal areas, this will be from temperatures around 10 degrees combined with northwest winds of around 15 to 20 mph."
