UPDATE: Nine Students Injured when Stamford School Bus Hits Pole, House

The crash occurred during early dismissal of classes prompted by the snowstorm.

Nine students from Turn of River Road Middle School were taken to Stamford Hospital to be treated for minor injuries after their school bus hit a utility pole and the porch of a house on Vine Road.

Stamford Police said the bus with 42 students aboard had left the school for early dismissal, according to NBC Connecticut. The driver reportedly told investigators there was a mechanical issue with the bus.

It’s not known whether there are any injuries or whether any students were aboard, according to WTNH. Stamford schools were dismissing classes two hours early Friday because of the snowstorm.
