Stamford Athletic Club To 'Cease Operations' This Week
The club announced on its website it will "cease operations as a commercial athletic club facility" this week.
STAMFORD, CT — A local athletic club is set to permanently close to members this week after over 20 years in the city. Stamford Athletic Club, located at 75 Third Street, will "cease operations as a commercial athletic club facility" on Wednesday, May 1, according to the club's website.
External vendors will continue to provide services at this location, and the facility is also available for private events.
According to the website, the Church of the Archangels built the Greek Cultural Center for expanding fellowship in 1976. The Center introduced an athletic facility that features a full gymnasium, Olympic-sized pool, weight rooms, racquetball court, whirlpool jacuzzi and more.

The Center opened up membership to the public in 1995 and was transformed into the Stamford Athletic Club.
