Stamford Bar Found Not Liable in Parking Garage Assault
The victim sued, claiming the bar and its staff was negligent for serving the men who carried out the attack, according to a report.

A state court has ruled that a Stamford bar isn’t responsible or liable for after patrons reportedly beat a man during a brawl in a nearby parking garage.
Jetmir Daka sued under the state’s dram shop statute, seeking monetary damages in connection with the Feb. 26, 2012 attack that occurred while he walked to his car with a friend in a Bell Street parking garage when he accidentally bumped into a man going up the staircase and a fight with four men ensued, according to the Connecticut Law Tribune.
Daka sued the Grand Restaurant/Lounge where the four men, who didn’t have assets, were served alcohol that evening. He claimed negligence on the part of the bar and its staff and sought $360,000 in damages, according to the Tribune.
