Stamford Boys Lacrosse Falls to Greenwich [Video]
After a tough loss to one of the top teams in Massachusetts over the weekend, the Greenwich boys lacrosse squad took out some frustrations Tuesday on Stamford.
Jason Sands and Andrew Feeney each scored three goals as the Cardinals rolled to a 17-5 victory over the Black Knights in Stamford.
On Saturday,Greenwich (7-5, 6-2) suffered an 11-8 defeat at Billerica, the No. 2-ranked team in the MIAA East.
Despite the five losses, the Cardinals are ranked second in this week's Laxpower.com's state poll. Three of their defeats have come to national powers outside Connecticut. Last week, Greenwich upset Fairfield Prep, 10-4.
Ten different players scored for the Cardinals on Tuesday. Chris Pavelic, Eric Foote and Jacob Stein each had two goals while Alex Moeser, Patrick Coleman, Woodward Waesche, Walker Brady and Stetson Newman all scored once.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Stamford (5-7, 1-7), although three wins came against non-FCIAC opponents.
